We imported an F2 Bengal female from the States in the early nineties. Her name was Mayan Treasure of Typhast, known as “Mya” and she was from an F1 called Lionsmountain Domenica. “Domenic” was from Art Decco a very beautiful Asian Leopard Cat. Typhast Eclipse and Typhast Crockofgold are two kittens that Mya had from Llandar Typhastorm Clouds. Like most early generation Bengals, she only had small litters and they were mainly boys and sadly none of them were fertile. One girl was bred on from Eclipse and has kept the line going, but she is the only one. "Mayan died at a comparatively early age and it was discovered that she only had one kidney and that had she had a stone in it. Typically cat like we had no idea she had a problem. She had never had a days illness in her life and was a very healthy cat. We came back from the National Show one year and found her dead on the floor of the bedroom. As you can imagine it was quite a shock! Chester (Typhast Treasure Chest) was one of her beautiful but infertile boys so we neutered him. Lordie, Typhast Warlord was another very beautiful son with the most stunning snow marbled markings, but again he was not fertile.

With the advent of a much wider gene pool available from the States and the progression of the breed away from the early generations, but still keeping the "wild" look, we decided to concentrate on the later more sociable generations. Our F2, although a very sweet gentle cat, was very shy with strangers and this we felt was not an extravert enough personality to take forward. Mind you, having said that, all her Bengal kittens were very outgoing and in no way shy - it fact completely the opposite.

We are now concentrating on producing F4/5 Bengals onwards. Many of our really stunning looking cats are F8 and F9s but have retained that special magic look that makes them "A Cat on the brink of tomorrow". A cat so
special that people stop and say 'wow' and then this stunning little 'wild' creature comes running up to chat and play. That is a really feel good factor.
