We
have great difficulty getting a photograph that does
Pantha justice. It is not easy photographing a black
cat! He has the most classic Burmese type. Apart from
his lovely balanced wedge, his profile shows an excellent
strong nose break, straight nose and deep level chin.
He was our first real Bombay and we couldnt
have done better.
He
was shown in the early days, gaining seven Merit Certificates,
all from different judges. When the breed progressed
he gained one Intermediate Certificate, with Best of
Breed, but then we had to stop showing him as he cooked
his stomach on his heated bed and a leather stomach
is not in the Standard of Points! Looking through his
write-ups, what shows up consistently is short
fine coat, dense black, sound to the roots. This
is something that he is passing on to his offspring,
apart from his lovely type and temperament.
He
is now fourteen years old and last year had a very unfortunate
fall and broke his hind leg so badly it had to be pinned.
Six months bed rest hasn't deterred him and he is back
as new and as enthusiastic as ever about his work, still
producing kittens like Jet that win on the show bench,
showing that you can't keep a good 'un down!
