Hello Rosie & Barrie,

I just wanted to let you know how our very new addition is getting on. Stella has an amazing character and is just doing everything at 100
miles an hour! My son Joe who is six thinks she is so much fun; they are the best of friends. I even caught my husband giving her a kiss the other day so she really has made an impression!

Hope your both well, take care for now

Josie

Hi Rosie & Barrie, hope you are both well.

Just a quick update on our b oy. He's still as wonderful as ever though we think we've turned him into the soppiest puss on the planet. He keeps us on our toes and at 11 years old is managing to continually learn new things, he is so intelligent sometimes it's unbelievable.

We love him to bits. We've often thought about getting a little friend for him though perhaps we'd appreciate more than he would.

We love the web site and were surprised to see pictures of Chester on the front page, we feel very proud. It was interesting to read up on his history and see photos of his brothers and sisters.

Kindest regards.

Gary, Shirley & Chester xx

The Webmaster with the three loves of his life - Sabi, Honey and Columbus.

Just wanted to say hello and let everyone know how happy I am to be a member of Club Typha-Typhast AGAIN. It has been a while - far too long since we had our last Burmese cats from Rosie and Barrie.

Rarely does one see such friendly cats - only drawback is that we can't let them out without supervision as they just go up to strangers to say hello or if there is "danger", Honey (the Lilac) just lays down on his back. Yes, Honey is a male (Sabi's choice of name). But he is a real sweetie so the name is quite apt. (Honey's favourite titbit: PRAWNS!)

They are just adorable and so curious about life. Like Sabi says, our home would be so empty without them.

Hi Rosie & Barrie,

Thought you might like to see how Tiggings is enjoying his new home.
T oday he ventured into the garden for the first time, then came back in for a long snooze.

He loves to be pampered at any opportunity as he's very affectionate. He's a fantastic new addition to our family, we love him to bits & enjoy every moment with him.

Thanks very much for letting him retire with us.

Yours greatfully

Pet, Jude & James

Dear Rosie,

It was so nice speaking with you today after all these years.

Here is a picture of Csibi - (also known as) Typha Tovarish being the beautiful daughter of Typha Dark Enigma. She lived with us for 22 years 2 months. She was a very healthy cat who totally dominated the household of one large GSD and a stray tabby and us, being a very good natured fun loving animal, who we miss very much. Although there is more room in the bed at the moment!!!! Looking forward to the next Typha offspring in our home!

With kindest personal regards - Brenda & Peter Kertesz

Dear Rosie and Barrie,

I thought you might like a recent photo showing Rufus the great hunter on guard in the garden - he has brought in countless mice and a blackbird! Much larger than him - how he did that I'll never know. You were right Fonzie (our Snowshoe neutered boy) and Rufus are now good friends - meaning Fonzie has learned to be patient even when Rufus is playing with his tail. The gardener is very taken with him as he likes to "help" especially with the leaf raking. He loves water. He has a water fountain to drink from that he likes to wash his paws in and then stick his head under the fountain to shower - then he likes to jump on the bed soaking wet. I can't believe he is already 6 months old - after Christmas he will going on the dreaded trip to the vets - I guess he may calm down a bit then. Hope you all have a wonderful Xmas.

Best wishes

Rufus, Fonzie and Hannah

Hi Rosie

I would also like to have a little photo of Leo on your club page. Typha Omnileopard “Leo“ the first registered Bengal in Sweden. He came to Sweden in 1995 and was an immediate hit in the cat world.

Lots of people got very interested in the breed and my phone rang all the time. I competed with him in Independent because Fife didn’t recognize the breed back then. He easily became European Premier even though he sometimes would have preferred to be the only cat in the show hall. Now, when he is 10 years old he has returned to the show circuit. (In Sweden cats can compete in senior class (7 -10) and a veteran class 10 and older). In September he was number one on the short hair list so I’m hoping for the best (the show year ends in December).

I´m so grateful that you let me have him! And he has done a lot for the breed in Sweden.

Love

Inger

Hi Rosie & Barrie

I would just like to thank you for a wonderful addition to my family and also the support you have given me as well.

As you can see from the pictures Cyrus has grown very quickly and is coming on in leaps and bounds (quite literally) with his new life in London.

He’s very mischievous and energetic, and always into something, but I would not have it any other way. Cyrus has me in fits of laughter with the things he gets up to, but on the other hand he can be very loving as well, he has a wonderful temperament and is too intelligent for his own good.

I have sent you a few pictures of Master Cyrus (5 months old) hope you enjoy them.

Respectfully yours,

Nigel

Hello Rosie!

Do you remember your Typha Northerncrown that we call Alfons? (How can we forget?)

It´s been a while since I wrote to you. We are all well and Alfons is even more gorgeous now as a grown up gentle "cat". He is always talking to us, letting us know everything that has happend outside in the garden as he is coming in for food or hugs. He is often sleeping on my chest and I can kiss him as much as I want to. No one can look at me with that much love in his eyes as he can. I can feel it, see it and hear it. And I love him back. I love him more than I can describe. We all do, family, friends and neighbours.

Alfons is still coming and going out as he pleases and if we haven´t seen him for a while, we just call out for him and he´ll come runnimg in a full speed loudly telling us that he´s on his way.

He is SO funny. He is SO smart. He is a cat, a friend worth millions. And, as I told you before - he loves us with every piece of his little heart.

I hope everything is well with you, your husband and all your cats.

Lots of hugs from Alfons with family in Katrineholm, Sweden

Anne-Greth

Hi Rosie,

Just thought I’d keep you up to date with a few more pictures of our girls. They’re growing so fast, and getting darker by the day. They really do each
have their own little personalities, Megansgirl loves to climb up us and her favourite perch is either Rich or my shoulder – while Malteezah will only let you carry her if she’s on her back like a baby. Malteezah has also really taken to the catnip mouse, and has just shown us how she can play fetch with it. Really adorable.

We’ve been singing your praises to our friends who come and marvel over the kittens so we might have to come visit with them when they decide it’s time for them to get kittens too!

Much love,

Carla

Dear Rosie and Barrie

Here are Marmite and Io after 2 weeks here ... They would like to join your club and are sending in their photo. They spent a long time walking over the keyboard to say their favourite! They haven't had a single 'accident' in 2 weeks and are absolutely adorable. The vet saw them this week to add them to her books and said they are in perfect health.

Lots of love and well done on a great website

Helen, Paul, Io and Marmite xxxx

Rosie & Barrie,

We thought you might like to see how the kittens are progressing – these pictures are from late June/early July (approx 17 weeks old). I think you’ll agree they have grown a fair bit since you last saw them.

You suggested we might be in for some sleepless nights, quite surprisingly they haven’t kept us awake once yet – either we’re tiring them out in the evenings or vice versa (suspect the latter).

They’ve settled in well and have gradually made most of the house their own – bookcases, shelves and window sills have been cleared as they’ve explored every nook and crannie – Glynis says it looks as though we’ve been burgled!! but glancing down at the floor paints a different picture and resembles an explosion in a toy shop.

We’ll keep you posted on their progress.

Dave & Glynis.

PS. I like the website.

Dear Rosie,

Although our cats are no longer living with us, they are still very much alive in our memories.

They were absolutely beautiful and they had such lovely temperament. Very intelligent and sociable; they could even open doors. They ruled our household. But what we appreciated the most was that we could leave them with you when we went on holiday knowing that they would be well looked after.

Mona

Dear Rosie and Barrie,

Thank you so much for letting us have Laila. She had a lovely life with us. We do so enjoy visiting you and seeing Crackadazzle her mother running around. It is like having our much loved Laila back.

Hi Rosie,

I thought you may like to see the attached. Kushka’s has had a kidney infection, but – hopefully – she’s on the mend. My vet had to carry out several scans, take blood/urine etc and at one time she spent two days in the vet’s on a drip, but he said she’s handled it beautifully and she’s been “an angel”. Since then, she’s made it very clear she’s certainly not ready to join the rest of the angels yet.

The love and devotion I have had from her over the past 18 years never ceases to gladden my heart. I may bore you with more photos – if your computer can take it – I am very so very proud of her and I can’t help myself!

I hope everything with you and Barrie is going well – I think your website is terrific.

Best regards……………MARK

Dear Mr & Mrs Alger-Street

I thought you might like to know how Rufus is getting on now he is just over a year old.

You warned me that he was very naughty!! He wasn't naughty exactly, more clumsy and acted first and thought afterwards!! I am afraid he was renamed Colin (the clot) as Rufus was far too regal for a cat with his nature.

He is an absolute delight, very chatty, so affectionate and now picks his way over ledges and shelves etc without sending the entire lot on the floor, only a few. I have had to throw away so many treasure that he has broken one way or another!! Who said cats tread carefully?

Kind Regards

Sue Anderton

Hi Rosie and Barrie,

As you can see Typhast Oneblue (15mth old Burmese Blue) and Typhast Grand Entrance (16 week old Bengal named Smarty Pants) are getting along fine.

Oneblue cannot stop cleaning him though, Smarty Pants never stops eating so they make a right pair.

They both have such a wonderful temperament and we could not wish for a better partnership.

Thanks for helping us find happiness just watching them grow up.

Stay Happy
Shaun & Clelia

Dear Rosie & Barie

Just a note to let you know the Bombay kitten is
fine (we still haven't settled on a name!). It took him a day to settle, and the Burmese was a bit over-excited at first - it was the first cat he has had contact with since leaving his litter, and we kept a close watch on them at first. By Monday things had calmed down and they are now getting on really well, eating and playing together, and grooming each other, and they sleep curled up together- they both seem really happy so it looks like everything has
worked out well.

thanks for everything,
best wishes

Tony & Nicole
